2 firefighters injured in two-alarm house fire in northwest Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) — Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling a two-alarm blaze in northwest Portland.

Just after 10 a.m. Friday, Portland Fire & Rescue crews were called to burn down a house in the 1100 block of Northwest Eloise Lane. A second alert was issued for the fire to bring in additional resources.

PF&R said there was a large fire in the first floor crawl space. He quickly faded away.

Two firefighters were slightly to moderately injured. PF&R did not provide further details of their injuries.

PF&R told FOX 12 that two pet guinea pigs died and one rabbit was missing. There were a lot of animals in the house, according to PF&R.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Northwest Cornell Road was closed at Northwest Eloise Lane while crews were at the scene.
