Jacksonville Icemen – Atlanta Gladiators, ECHL Kelly Cup Playoff 4
Turning: Ben Hawerchuk scored at 13:20 of the first period, Francois Brassard got a shutout and the Jacksonville Icemen swept the Atlanta Gladiators 5-0 Thursday night to win their ECHL Kelly Cup playoff series at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.
Series Status: The Icemen win the best-of-7 series, 4-0.

Large armband again: Armsard, the ECHL’s Goaltender of the Year, once again showed his worth on Thursday, frustrating the Gladiators all night even though Atlanta outshot the Icemen 37-23.
penalty box: The Icemen completed a perfect four-game shorthanded streak, denying all seven of Atlanta’s power plays.
Around the ice rink: Lynch and Craig Martin scored in the second period as Jacksonville pulled away. … Team captain Christopher Brown scored his first goal since returning from the American Hockey League, and Jacob Friend scored a late goal into an empty net. … The Icemen’s victory is the first series success for a Jacksonville team in the ECHL since the Jacksonville Lizard Kings eliminated the Toledo Storm in Game 5 of their third-round series on April 24, 1996.
Following: The Icemen advance to the second round, where they will face either the Florida Everblades or the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. The exact schedule of games remains to be determined, pending the end of the Florida-Greenville series.
