Niño Brown Releases New Chicago House-Inspired Single “Love Sick”
Award-winning rapper and singer-songwriter Niño Brown has just released his sixth single from his long-awaited album, Redbone. The recent single marks her twelfth music video in twelve months. Last August, Niño burst onto the rap music scene with his song of the summer “Summer Rain” and has consistently dominated a genre that many consider a relative newcomer. “The reality is, there’s nothing new about me being in the rap world,” says Brun. Brown, also known as Cortez Garza, an award-winning singer-songwriter best known for his Americana music styles, hails from Atlanta, Georgia, and cites artist Tupac Shakur and Lauren Hill as two of his biggest influences when creating music of any variety.” Although hip-hop be central to this new project, I’ve allowed myself to not be boxed and focus more on my instincts when recording in the studio and writing songs in the future,” says Brown. “Love Sick” seems to be a prime example of said belief as it is a style blurring event with a heavy emphasis on Nińo Browns vocal abilities. “I was exposed to Chicago House when I was a kid and got heavily involved in the underground dance music scene, so it’s impossible to ignore the influence of artists like Deee-lite or even Blondie on a track like this,” Brown said. The track was produced by Atlanta hip-hop stalwart ihateyoujonny, a frequent Browns collaborator, and recorded, mixed and mastered by Kxng Blanco, a local rap superstar and resident engineer at Ga Pro Studio in Athens, Georgia. “It’s the 1st track that Kxng Blanco and I recorded together and to be honest, I wasn’t sure what he would think of the song because I knew it was very niche and far from that on what he used to work with the local rappers so when I saw him playing with that it really told me how much of a mature musical palette he had, and so we did some of the best music of my career since,” Brown said. The video production was put together with the powerhouse visual team, Brasher Media and recorded on location in Athens, Georgia at Rabbit Hole Studios. “Brasher Media produced the last 10 videos that I’ve done, so we’re kind of down to a science, no processing or scripting, just guerrilla-style video,” Brown offers. Never known for writing the same song twice, Niño Brown s made a promise to himself and the community and kept that promise to the shovel.
